Aiken County Government Center

Aiken, South Carolina

This 35-acre campus complex was designed to consist of four, one to two level buildings, creating a county focal point. It will also offer a large open community gathering space for outdoor performances and plaza events. DMR’s design concept is to include oak lined boulevards of traditional clay and stone.

St. Louis, Missouri

In downtown St. Louis, MO, covering 7 blocks adjacent to the Edward Jones Dome and Americas Center, The Bottle District/Gateway Village will truly be a “24/7” destination for the region where residents and visitors alike can live, work, and play. In addition to a 150-room boutique hotel, The Bottle District will include over 300,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space.

Westfield Brandon

Brandon, Florida

DMR Architecture designed a 128,000 SF lifestyle center addition and renovation to the Westfield Brandon Shoppingtown in Brandon, Florida. The new addition is designed to have an exterior look, with open-air plazas, new shops and restaurants, and landscaping. The renovation will compliment the new addition with a new look in color, lighting, furnishings, food court design and finishes.

Daleville Town Center

Botetourt County, Virginia

The Daleville TND (Traditional Neighborhood Development) is a 117 acre large scale, mixed-use project in the Blue Ridge mountains with 750,000 square feet of commercial and civic space and 300 units of varying density residential. The client’s primary goal was to design a sustainable and walkable neighborhood promoting a casual life style around an open public activity space. The project offers a mixture of multi-family and single family residential, retail, civic and office space. Construction began in 2008.

EpiCentre

Charlotte, North Carolina

The EpiCentre is a high density urban mixed-use project on a 3 acre downtown infill site. This complex is comprised of multiple commercial buildings totaling 262,000 square foot with retail, cinema, bowling and night-time entertainment, restaurant and office uses. These uses are linked together to act as a single building podium above a four level underground parking garage. A large pedestrian plaza connects the different components to each other, to the CATS light rail transit system, to the downtown bus transit center and to the surrounding streets. Two towers rise above the podium, an Aloft hotel and a 46 level high-rise condominium tower.

Sustainability

Sustainability

DMR Architecture believes architecture is not about fancy materials or arbitrary forms. It is about finding the best and most efficient way to meet the projects needs. We view the creation of ecologically responsive design as a core value in our studio and promote an ecological approach whenever feasible and when it aligns with our client’s vision and budget.

With each phase of design, our LEED accredited professionals evaluate the benefits of sustainable building practices through site development, building design, construction practices and final operations. DMR Architecture has worked with a number of our clients in developing green building strategies and the financial impacts of becoming LEED certified.

This 15.5 acre mixed-use site will incorporate an open-air village concept with retail and office. The architecture and design fits the surrounding neighborhood and has the feeling of a small town center. This project was designed to become a destination for people to dine out, window shop or take a leisurely stroll through the plaza.

This design embodies a very distinctive Mediterranean hill-town image, utilizing strong colors, a variety of textures and multi-leveled plazas with outdoor dining. Park Towne has received widespread press coverage for its uniqueness and leading design as well as its retailing success.

Our prototype experience began over 7 years ago with our first Walgreens and has expanded into a large client base of developers and retail clients. In addition to standard prototypes, DMR Architecture can design custom facades to meet required and specific appearance guidelines of various municipalities. During these past 7 years our prototype clients have continued to grow and we are now working with a number of national retailers, including Atlantic Bread, Rack Room Shoes, Designer Shoe Warehouse, Portrait Innovations, Family Dollar, Ashley Furniture, and buybuy BABY, in designing both interior upfits and build to suits. Assisted Living

The Laurels is a 72,000 SF, 112 Bed, two-story Assisted-Independent Living Residence designed with emphasis on resident’s individual condition and activity level. The facility is designed to encourage the resident to maximize their independence and live life to the fullest. Every effort and design decision was made to allow the residents to experience the comforts of home while receiving the necessities of assisted living.

The Haven is a 38,000 square foot, single-story, 60 Bed, gated neighborhood oriented living facility for seniors with a memory impaired disorder. The facility is designed to provide for the security and care of residents while helping them live as independently as possible in a home-like setting.

Decatur Design Competition

This was an international residential prototype design competition. The design challenge was to create a sustainable updated modern design with a timeless aesthetic that could be efficiently reproduced. The team’s design incorporated clean, bold lines with open common space, as well as private space, creating a single family home that is flexible and adaptable for various living habits. This design took first place in its category and units are currently being built.

This mixed-use development is in the heart of Charlotte, NC’s art district. A three story building, it will contain artist work/live loft spaces with

12, 000 square feet of studio work and retail space. The upper two levels will feature open loft condominiums with city skyline views A community outdoor space will be available for public and private art showings and receptions.
