Corporate Retreat

DMR was commissioned to design a corporate retreat and research and development center for an international consortium. The site consists of a central lodge, individual cabins, outdoor gathering spaces and amenities. The site will also include meeting rooms, research laboratories, riding trails, hunting and other outdoor activities.

Birkdale Village

Huntersville, North Carolina

DMR designed the master plan for this 216 acre mixed-use village surrounded by a residential community for Forest City Development. The concept was to achieve a comfortable village scale.

Clemson Town Center

Clemson, South Carolina

Clemson Town Center is a 14 acres site located just a few miles from Clemson University. The plan calls for a mixture of retail, office, lodging and apartments. DMR incorporated outdoor dining, quiet walking and bicycle trails for this entertainment destination.

Daleville Town Center

Botetourt County, Virginia

The Daleville TND (Traditional Neighborhood Development) is a 117 acre large scale, mixed-use project in the Blue Ridge mountains with 750,000 square feet of commercial and civic space and 300 units of varying density residential. The client’s primary goal was to design a sustainable and walkable neighborhood promoting a casual life style around an open public activity space. The project offers a mixture of multi-family and single family residential, retail, civic and office space. Construction began in 2008.

Eastfield Station

Charlotte, North Carolina

DMR has begun work on the initial planning on a Transit Oriented Development, just minutes from uptown Charlotte, NC. This project will feature single family homes, townhomes, condominiums, and retail and office spaces. Eastfield will have destination entertainment and dining and will be conveniently located on the future Northern corridor of the CATS rail system.

Ingleside Plantation

N. Charleston, South Carolina

Ingleside Plantation is a 1600 acre site located in North Charleston, SC and is being jointly developed by The Weiser Companies and Weber Automotive. DMR Architecture has completed the Master Plan and is beginning work on Phase One. The 156 acre Phase One will consist of retail, office, residential and several hotels. The retail area will have a sports store anchor along with a movie theater.

Phase Two will begin in the next few years and will be a mixed use design with a town center, pedestrian walking trails, and a luxury hotel. Phase Three may be a Transit Oriented Development along the existing rail line.

The master plan includes multi-level office and retail, incorporating heavy wooded buffers to the surrounding neighborhood and a small-building scale to fit a village atmosphere.

The Streets at Southpoint

Durham, North Carolina

The master plan was for 1.5 million square feet and five major department stores (Nordstrom, Belk, JCPenney, Sears and Hecht’s) with an attached outdoor Lifestyle Center containing plazas and fountains.

North Charleston Historic District

N. Charelston, South Carolina

The objective of this master planning study of the existing 6 block area of historic downtown North Charleston was to create a realistic, strategic tool for City officials to work with current land owners and adjacent residential neighborhoods. DMR provided the City with typical block concept plans utilizing key historical buildings, maximizing street exposures for retail commercial, creating office and residential opportunities on upper levels, planning small open green spaces and public plazas and establishing multi-level parking decks in the center of each block.

In addition DMR created conceptual elevations of possible building massing. The city blocks have a potential of 186,000 square feet of commercial and 214 units of residential.
